Learn a Stealth Attack From the Robin Hood of Poker
I first saw Barry Greenstein's (known as the Robin Hood of Poker) son Joe Sebok use this technique learned from his father in the father-son World Poker Tour event. Since then I have incorporated this free pro poker tip into my regular no-limit hold'em game and have used it to great effect to stymie my opponents and keep them shocked and on the defensive.
One of the most common problems that can occur with poker players who play against the same people all the time, is that they can start to guess what cards you have based on how you played them previously. Most of us have a way that we were taught or picked up on with poker, and we keep playing that way unless we start to do really poorly. Really good players can start to notice these types of patterns even after seeing a new player play a few times.
Many pro poker players play the same hands differently because they know their opponents are watching how they play, recording every hand in notebooks at home and learning from that. So they take their starting hands and give them ranges of play pre and post-flop. That is really the best most people can do to stop this issue. But they have not read any free pro poker tips like you have, so they have missed a brilliant solution.
An example of what a player might do is raise six times the big blind pre-flop with poket A's as their regular play. But they may switch to 60% 6xBB, 30% 5xBB and 10% 4xBB to keep their play more unreadable. The problem with this tactic is that there is still a pattern and good players can still learn to read you.
The solution poker pro Barry Greenstein came up with was to get rid of patterns altogether!! If patterns are the problem, then you have to (at least most of the time), get rid of them!
Instead of varying your bets randomly by hand, bet the same amount every time with every single hand. Whenever no one has raised a pot and you have a good hand, bet three times the big blind. Whenever someone has bet the minimum bet, raise it up to four times the big blind. Whenever you bet post-flop, bet three quarters the current pot. This way your opponent does not know if you have AA or 2-7. You mask your good hands this way and can get paid off more for them.
Hopefully you enjoyed this free pro poker tip and I will try to add more in the near future.
Poker Pro Barry Greenstein is the first person I saw using this trick. Legend Doyle Brunsun also uses tricks like this to help make him the most feared and respected player in all of poker.
